This one's decaffeinated using methylene chloride and yes, we're telling you.
Most roasters go quiet on this bit. We're not going to. It's a solvent process, it's cheaper than the water-based methods, and it's also a completely legal, widely used, well-tested method that's been decaffeinating coffee for decades.
Any trace residue sits miles under safety limits, and most of it evaporates off well before the beans even reach roasting temperature. We chose it because it keeps this coffee affordable without gutting the flavour not because we're hiding something.
Everything else about this coffee is exactly what you'd expect from a proper Colombian: 100% arabica, that same green apple brightness, caramel sweetness, and milk chocolate depth you'd get from the caffeinated version. Decaffeination changes the caffeine.
It doesn't change where this coffee's from or how it's grown.
