Colombia doesn't grow robusta, not because it can't, but because it's never needed to. 100% arabica, and it's been the world's second-largest coffee producer for decades running, right behind Brazil. When a country's entire industry is built on one species at that scale, they've had a long time to get good at it.
This lot comes from Huila, in the south high altitude (1,200–2,000m), volcanic soil, heavy rainfall, and forest canopy providing natural shade. That's not marketing language, that's the actual growing conditions that produce a genuinely complex cup: altitude slows the cherry's development, giving the bean more time to build sugar and acidity before it's picked.
Washed processing, Caturra, Typica and Bourbon varieties, harvested September through December. Excelso is Colombia's standard export grade not the flashiest name on the shelf, but a legitimately solid, consistent quality tier that's been the backbone of Colombian exports for a reason.
